Who we Are

Comondi, meaning "with the world", is a vegan company founded on the principles of compassion, ecological integrity and respect for all living creatures.

We are a close-knit group of friends who believe that each action we perform has consequences which can either benefit or degrade the earth on which we live. We are concerned about the overwhelming amount of exploitation in the world, whether it be economic, social or environmental.

We suggest that there is a better way of living, a better way of being in the world. We suggest that human beings need to work towards a more harmonious relationship with the world around them, to be more conscious of how their actions can contribute to degradation and exploitation.

We suggest that changing our buying habits can have enormous impact on the world around us. Minimizing our purchasing altogether is a giant step forward. We should always ask whether we really need a particular item before buying it. However, we also recognize that there are items which people will continue to buy, simply because of the society in which we live. It is here that education becomes paramount. And, this is where Comondi begins.

We strive to offer alternative products which are made with minimal environmental impact. We employ the cradle to grave philosophy; How is it made? How is it used? How will we dispose of it?

We are also greatly concerned with equitable treatment of employees. What are the management policies of the companies in question? Do they give back to the local community?

Finally, and most importantly, we do not carry any animal products. We believe that there is enough exploitation of our fellow creatures without contributing to their suffering. Respect and compassion are our roots and they spread to every creature on this planet. Veganism is a way of life for the Comondi team so we could not possibly run a company which didn't adhere stringently to this philosophy.
