NAME: SABLE

Sable, along with his brother Jinx, has been with us for quite some time now, ever since he was a kitten, in fact. Our hearts always go out to our poor, overlooked black kitties who just don't get the attention they deserve.
Although he is not a lap cat, Sable is affectionate and he ADORES other cats. He is very nurturing towards younger animals so would be just fine with a brood of kittens. Please consider giving Sable his forever home; he's been waiting so long to find it!

NAME: JILL
GENDER: FEMALE, SPAYED
AGE: ADULT
Along with her brother, Jack, Jill has been here ever since her kittenhood and our volunteers CANNOT understand why!
She is SO affectionate and loves to be held, hugged and kissed. She would make such an extraordinary lap cat and, on top of all this, she gets along well with other cats. She used to be nicknamed Smiley because that's the look she gives when she's trying to get your attention. So, why not make that a permanent smile and give Jill her long-awaited forever home?!!

NAME: TUNER
GENDER: MALE, NEUTERED
AGE: 2 yrs
Tuner is another hold-over from the Magnificent Seven kittens who came to us about 2 years ago. He is just a delightful sweetheart which is only heightened by his adorable plumpness. He loves people so much that he's quite content to just sit and gaze upon your heavenly countenance. Come and visit Tuner...you simply won't be able to leave without him!

NAME: SOOTY
GENDER: FEMALE
AGE: ADULT
Although Sooty is making do with this cushy little bed for now, she'd MUCH rather be curling up on your lap. This 2 year old cat is hoping to find a home where her guardians will be content stroking her gorgeous fur while she indulges her inner cuddle bunny. Not that you have to go very far "in" to find the cuddler; she makes sure you know right away that affection and laptime are uppermost in her priorities.

NAME: CUDDLES
GENDER: MALE, NEUTERED
AGE: YOUNG
Ahem. We don't like to tell tales out of school but if ever there was a cat who was trying to get out from under the shadow of his name, it's "Cuddles". His feline pride has obviously been offended by the sappy moniker and we think he's angling to be called "Trouble" or "Are you Talkin' to me?"
This exceedingly handsome Siamese-influenced fellow came in with his pal, Nibs, and has adjusted quite well to sanctuary living. So well that he's somewhat of a little tyrant around here. But, to be fair, there are a LOT of cats to keep in line and we think if Cuddles could be in a home with just one or two other submissive cats he would be fine.
Like most cats, he doesn't enjoy being picked up but does like pets and affection when the mood strikes. If you're looking for a cat who knows his own mind but still has a tender side Cuddles (oops...Trouble) may be just the companion for you.

NAME: C.B.
GENDER: MALE, NEUTERED
AGE: 3+
C.B. is a big guy who was found going through the garbage in an underground parking garage. When he first came to us he was very nervous of people and didn't want much to do with them. In the time he has been with us he's done a complete 180 degrees and has become quite friendly and affectionate. He has the LOUDEST purr we've ever heard! He just loves to be scritched and fussed. He is still a quiet cat so would probably be best in a home without young children. Won't you consider giving this former dumpster diver a shot at a new career as a Feline Companion?

NAME: FIGARO
GENDER: MALE, NEUTERED
AGE: 2 yrs
Here is Figaro doing what Figaro does best. Yowling for attention. Honestly, we weren't able to take a picture where he kept his mouth closed!
Figaro loves to be the centre of attention and hates being closed away from the action. He delights in humans and also loves to explore and play. Sometimes he can get rambunctious with the other cats but for him, it's all in good fun. C'mon by and visit...Figaro will be the first cat to greet you at the door.

NAME: MATT
GENDER: MALE, NEUTERED
AGE: 4 yrs
Matt has been at the sanctuary since birth. Sadly his mother has passed on but happily his brother, Mike, has found a loving home. Unfortunately for Matt he did not inherit his mother's loving nature nor his brother's happy-go-lucky attitude. Instead, Matt became a very fearful and timid cat.
Originally we intended to adopt Matt and Mike together but it became apparent to us that they were not that closely bonded and that Mike was constantly losing out on the chance of a forever home due to his brother's mistrustful nature. So, now what we are hoping for is a loving, patient home for Matt where he can be whoever he chooses to be and where he will be given the chance to blossom secure in the knowledge that he will finally be home.

NAME: LIL' BUGGER
GENDER: MALE, NEUTERED
AGE: 7 yrs
SPECIAL NEEDS!!!
It isn't easy to get a good picture of Lil' Bugger as he's either climbing your leg or in your face or in between. He LOVES attention and just doesn't get enough of it...ever.
Along with his two siblings, who have been adopted, L.B. was brought to the sanctuary by a man who found the tiny new-born kittens in a plastic bag in his mailbox! Joyce hand-raised L.B. from a tiny kitten which explains his adoration for all things human!
He has such a sweet face and is beautiful both inside and out. He has been at the sanctuary for so long and is one of Joyce's house cats but we really think he needs a forever home where he can be showered with as much love as he can handle. However, he is the victim of a cruel irony. Although he is one of our MOST lovable cats, desperate for human affection, nobody will touch him these days. For some reason, he has ceased lifting his tail when he uses the litterbox resulting in a constantly filthy tail. This does nothing to endear him to visitors and so he has become somewhat of a pariah, bereft of hugs and cuddles.
If you can find it in your heart to welcome this very unhappy cat into your home, please contact us. Perhaps if his tail was kept very closely trimmed and someone could wash the tail daily, he could enjoy frequent cuddling again.
Because we are not expecting L.B. to get adopted anytime soon, we are also asking for sponsors for his daily care. Cheques can be made out to Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary and L.B. can be put in the notes section. To be honest though, all this angelic cat wants is someone to love him. He is good with other cats and is not one to pick a fight. He is also used to large dogs and all manner of wildlife! Won't you consider giving him his "third chance"?

NAME: TOWER
GENDER: MALE, NEUTERED
AGE: 1 yr
SPECIAL NEEDS!!!
Tower comes from a troubled brood. His mother, Wink, only had one eye due to a virus and his brother Winkie developed the same affliction. Tower too has a cross to bear. He suffers from seizures and needs medication every 12 hours. It is sad that so young a cat can’t simply be footloose and fancy free but it doesn’t seem to get Tower down. He is sweet and playful and will make a wonderful companion.
Tower needs a home where his health will be monitored and where the 12 hour schedule will be strictly adhered to. It is very important for his continued well-being. In return for this devotion and commitment, Tower will shower you with as much love as his little heart can hold.
